At the April 15, 2010 meeting, our special guest speaker, Rob van de Vechte, gave a presentation on SSI being made part of the SGB school program!

Rotary Club Bonaire Rotarally 2010 was a huge success with 63 participants driving the 4 ½ hour rally consisting of 4 parts.
The event was organized by the experts, Huub Groot, Edwin Vrieswijk, Jan Henk van der Wier, and from Curacao rally map maker Freddy Rush, with the support crew by all the staff from Sunbelt Realty, Akkermans Auto supply, and It Rains Fishes.
The start was again between the Toyota garage and the Sport Hall; with traject stops at Seru Largo, the Children’s Animal Farm at Lagun, where a quick lunch was served, La Sonrisa Ball Park and finish at Divi Sunset Beach. Around 200 people attended the great after-finish picnic lunch at Divi Sunset Beach with BBQ prepared by the members of Rotary and amongst the volunteers Carlos van Wilgen, Vernon Hermelijn, Elfried Stuart, Giovanni Veld and Arie Bombarie and cozy mariachi music and a DJ, while everyone was comparing and commenting upon the in and outs of the trajects and enjoying the lively ambiance.
Participants enjoyed the mondi, the tricks along the way, and especially the drive through parts of Bonaire they never knew existed. At 5 PM the best navigation and overall winners were announced under large applause.
Overall winners:
- Winner traject 1 and 2: Max van Dortmund with 50 negative points start # 17

Maduro & Curiel's Bank, Rotary Club Bonaire and Akkermans Auto Supplies BV are proud to be sponsors of the new car for Mr. Saragoza, a well known local resident. He is, unfortunately, handicapped, but still is able (and loves) to drive his car. In 2003, Rotary Club Bonaire initiated the first "sponsored" car for Mr. Saragoza, and now six years later, it was time for a replacement. A new car was found at Akkerman's Toyota, and they converted it for Mr. Saragoza with hand gas and a hand brake. Pabien, Mr. Saragoza!
