Rotary Club Meets with BES Officials and Bonaire's Chief of Police

Rotary Club Bonaire believes that knowledge, information sharing and straight talk are the answers for good corporate citizenship leaders to go forward in the community.

Accordingly, Rotary invited Police Chief John Schagen and Henk Camp to the Rotary Club Bonaire lunches in November, 2009, and this proved to be a valuable method to get current and accurate information directly from the sources.

The tone was to speak openly about issues and concerns, but also in how to make a better community by networking with Bonaire business people to provide ideas, solutions, challenges, and concerns and also to confront the reality of them in an open discussion forum of respect. Communication in the lunch meetings were conducted with respect and attention, followed by open forums with concerns and possible solutions, as well as how to better develop a feedback system, both formal and informal, to continue the communication and sharing of resourses and knowledge.

Tomorrow’s challenges will continue with or without individual’s requested points met, but the target goal is to give and receive the most current and correct information to all concerned, so that the building of good will and friendships will be beneficial to, not only Rotarians, the island population. Comments regarding the guest speaker, Henk Kamp, made in earlier publications are not official statements nor do they reflect the position of Rotary Club Bonaire.
