Rotary Bonaire Holds 20th Annual Car Rally

On March 14th, 2009, Rotary Club Bonaire held its 20th annual car rally, with a record turn-out of 82 autos.

The start was between Toyota and Sport Hall, with a break at City Cafe, where everyone was served a sandwich and coffee and received the new instructions as to how to find your way to the finish…..it was big fun for all!

At the finish was a BBQ with DJ Hunkly at Mangazina Di Rei with over 250 attending. The event was organized by the experts Huub Groot, Edwin Vrieswijk, and Jan Henk van der Wier, and from Curacao, rally map maker Freddy Rush with the support crew by all the staff from Sunbelt Realty, Akkermans Auto Supply, and It Rains Fishes.

Participants enjoyed the mondi and a few tricks along the way with the drive through parts of Bonaire they never knew before.... the best navigation and overall winners were:

RCB thanks all those who made this fundraiser so successful and fun. As Rotary Club Bonaire uses these funds for its projects in the community (Breakfast In School and other youth projects) we were happy to have received so much support and over over Naf 1500 was raised for our programs.
