Rotary District Governor Visits Bonaire

District Governor Sebastian Collura and his wife, Mrs. Sandra de Collura, visited the Rotary Club Bonaire. Accompanying the governor were Mr. Jaime de Sola, Assistant Governor and member of Rotary Club Curaçao and his wife.

D.G. Collura presented President Frank de Wit with the "Presidential Citation Award 2007-2008." This award was presented to Rotary Club Bonaire for the excellent work that has been done during the year 2007-2008, demonstrating how Rotary shares its talents, skills, energy and resources in order to create a better world. The award was signed by the District Governor and the President of Rotary International, Mr. Wilfred J. Wilkinson.

During his visit Governor Collura had a chance to inspect most projects and programs of the RCB. Mr. Collura also gave the club an update on Rotary International and the new Rotary International President Don Kurn Lee. Mr. Lee choose as this year's logo a mother carrying a child in colors of the Korean flag. His dream is a better world where every citizen can have an acceptable life, especially the children in the world. Many diseases in children are because of under-nourishment. Studies indicate that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and is crucial to function properly. Mister Collura is very glad with our Breakfast in Schools project, which fits perfectly with this year's theme.
