Rotary Club Bonaire hosted its Second Auction Dinner May 2nd 2008 at Plaza Resort

It was a sell-out crowd of over 180 people who enjoyed a Caribbean Buffet created by Vernon Martijn and students of SGB Chez Nous.

The menu was a variety of local dishes including: Keshi Yena, Beef Stew, Fresh Fish and Conch, Yucca and Banana chips...as well as a delicious Tamarind Leg of Lamb and Beef Tenderloin, along with salads and desserts of international cheeses. Wines were sponsored by AWC and Mezzacorona winery in Italy, including their Sicilian and Trento collection.

Auction Items ranged from paintings, dinners for four at fine restaurants on Bonaire, trips--including air and car--to Aruba, Sint Maarten and Curacao, as well as an Ajax jersey signed by players, free year internet by Telbo, free Cable TV from Flamingo TV and much much more. These items were all donated to Rotary and with the high energy of auctioneers Huub Groot and Corine van der Hout, Rotary brought in over Naf 100,000 that evening. Proceeds are to be used for the Breakfast in Schools Project and other youth projects on Bonaire. Thank you to all those who participated in the auction, donated items, or were present in support.
